AN EXCURSION TO THE DOLPHINS AND WHALES (4.5 hours)
When visiting Tenerife, sailing
to see the dolphins and whales is a definite must. Unfortunately, the number of
available places aboard is just not sufficient for the great number of tourists
who don’t want to miss this fantastic show.
Reserve in advance is not an
exaggerated piece of advice.
The Royal Delfin, officially
recognized by the Tenerife Town Council, is a modern glass bottom catamaran. It
provides the most optimal means for tourists to enjoy the dolphins and whales in
the ocean waters surrounding Tenerife. Certified English speaking guides
accompany you on the boat trip.
The fantastic advantage of this boat is
that passengers can walk around the spacious sun decks undisturbed! Whales and
dolphins of all type swim constantly under and around the boat. That is why the
Royal Delfin is equipped with large underwater areas where one can imagine being
in a giant aquarium. Underwater cameras keep track of everything for those who
prefer to observe the show from the upper deck.
On board the Royal
Delfin, you can enjoy the radiating calmness of the ocean and the pleasant
climate of the Canary Islands. The round trip is nearly 5 hours. The highlight
of course is watching the whales, porpoises and the playful dolphins that show
up for the rendezvous nearly every day.
Afterwards the Royal Delfin
anchors in the Bay of Masca under the awesome cliffs of the Teno-mountains. Here
you can swim amidst the multitude of colorful fish. On board a buffet lunch is
served along with free drinks like wine, beer or lemonade.
The trip back
to Puerto Cólon (Playa las Americas) takes you along the cliffs, a spectacular
view. Further on the Royal Delfin follows the coastline sailing past many
holiday spots such as Los Gigantes, Puerto Santiago, Playa de la Arena, San
Juan, Callao Salvaje and Playa Paraiso. With the wind in your hair and a wonderful
sun you can forget all your worries!
